RYA Powerboat Training Courses

The RYA Powerboat Training Scheme is aimed at the training requirements of both recreational and professional powerboat operators alike and is applicable to sports boats, fast fishers, rib and launches.

The lower age limit for RYA Powerboat Courses and RYA Power Boat Lessons is eight years for Level 1 and 12 years for Level 2, although the RYA recommends that children under the age of 16 should not drive a boat unless under the supervision of an adult.

The Sea Training Sussex Powerboat Training Courses are run from Sovereign Harbour Marina, situated between Pevensey Bay and Eastbourne.

The RYA Powerboat Scheme is broken down into four different courses, with the Powerboat Level 2 being the most popular course. There is no need to have completed Level 1 before taking Level 2. Upon successful completion of this course, the candidate can then apply for their ICC (International Certificate of Competence).
